Flights
Canberra is less than 2 hours flying time from many eastern Australian cities making it easy to add to any Australian itinerary. Daily flights are available to and from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Direct flights are also available to and from Adelaide, Cairns, Coffs Harbour, Darwin, Gold Coast, Hobart, Launceston, Newcastle and Perth. Some services may be seasonal.

Drive or coach

Train
A daily train service departs from Sydney Central Station and travels to Canberra via the Southern Highlands, Goulburn and Bungendore. Terminating at the Canberra Railway Station in Kingston, the trip takes about 4 ½ hours. Check timetables and book online through Transport NSW.
While there is no direct Canberra to Melbourne rail service, it is possible to catch the train to Albury and then be transferred by coach. Find timetables and booking information from Public Transport Victoria for the Canberra to Melbourne (via Albury) route. Alternately, catch the Melbourne to Sydney train and transfer to the Canberra train from the Goulburn railway station.
